Miley Cyrus Takes On Nicki Minaj's Infamous 'Anaconda' Single Cover And Nicki Minaj Is Not So Thrilled About It

What constitutes an iconic image in a day and age where we're inundated with more photos and memes than we can actually process? It's hard to say, but like pornography, we know it when we see it. Also like pornography, Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda" single cover makes quite a first impression. Perhaps you'd call it iconic.

Miley Cyrus loves female rappers. She was Lil Kim last Halloween, and through the magic of Photoshop, Cyrus has become Nicki Minaj.

Miley Cyrus has been sharing fan-made photos of her face photoshopped onto Minaj's "Anaconda" body... and it appears as if Minaj might not exactly be thrilled.

Miley began by sharing this;

She continued with the humorously superior;

 [Captioned: "Yes yes yes yes yes @nickiminaj"]

And she ended with this shameless self promotion:

Cyrus enjoyed her posterior transformation so much that she made one of the photos her Twitter avatar. It's hard to tell if Minaj was flattered, annoyed, or just confused by the pictures. She wrote, "Give me one good reason why Cyrus made this her Twitter avi #AncaondaOniTunes," next to one image, and captioned the "Hanna-Conda" photo the "No Chill Zone!"

 It's hard to tell for sure, but is Minaj mad that Cyrus shared this photo? It seems like she maybe is? And given her recent remarks about how it's "angelic" and "acceptable" for white women to show their butts while she faced heavy criticism, it certainly seems like she could be taking issue with this.

"Ancadonda" memes have been popping up all over the 'Net since the single's artwork came out. Kermit the Frog, Drake, Marge Simpson and Lauryn Hill have all gotten a Minaj-makeover online, and she seems to like some of them. "I saw Kermit the Frog the other day and I was like, 'No they didn't,'" she told Hot 97. "I saw a lot of them but that one was one of them that stuck out, and of course Marge Simpson."

The trio of Miley photos netted a combined 1.2 million likes on Instagram.

The "Anaconda" single topped the iTunes charts, making Minaj the first female rapper to have a No. 1 solo single, and the only female rapper to simultaneously take second place courtesy of "Bang Bang," her collaboration with Ariana Grande and Jessie J.

There is perhaps something not-quite-right about whitening Minaj's body and putting the head of a known cultural appropriator on top of it, so if Minaj is annoyed, she has good reason. Then again, when it comes to the mysteries of celebrity beef on social media, it is perhaps wisest not to even try figuring out who's thinking what.
