BET announced the nominations for the “BET
Awards” 2014 and the Southafrican group Mafikizolo not only bagged a nomination but the duo is
set to perform at the awards too. HAPPINESS!

And now, it’s time for Mafikizolo to make their mark at the BET Awards as this year’s South African nominee for Best International Act in Africa alongside rather strong contenders such as the likes of Davido (Nigeria) and Diamond Platinumz (Tanzania), their own Sarkodie, just to mention a few. Imagine, Theo and Nhlanhla making music’s finest get up off their seats with the sounds of Happiness or Khona? What a sight to see!
It's also been revealed that the host for the awards will be comedian veteran Chris Rock. We have faith that Rock will absolutely kill this hosting gig, after all he did a pretty good job at hosting the 77th Academy Awards. It has been a great year for Mafikizolo and their making a lot of strong waves in Africa and beyound. The release of their hit track Khona ft Uhuru got the whole of Africa dancing and it's accompanying mesmerizing video is something you can't dislike. (if only you're a hater)The video for this song got a lot of views on youtube. They have also released Happiness with nigerian musician May D and Tchelete (good life) with Nigerian musician Davido which have received a lot of air play respectively. Mafikizolo took home a lot of awards at the South Africa Music Awards (SAMA). Currently, they have the bragging rights to artist, song and best group of the year in SA.

were announced in 20 categories, selected by BET’s Voting Academy
comprised of a group of respected entertainment professionals in the
fields of television, film, music, social media, digital marketing,
sports journalism, public relations, creative arts and fans.
 The BET Awards 2014 will take place on Sunday, June 29 at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, CA. The 2014 BET Awards will premiere on BET International in Africa on 1 July at 9pm CAT. "This year’s nominees represent the best of the culture," said Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials. "It’s great to see our talented new artist’s right alongside our more beloved ones with long careers. We appreciate our BET Awards nomination committee, over 300 strong, for their efforts and congratulate all the nominees." Kudos to Mafikizolo and I hope they make Africa proud.
