Really? Mzvee Owns All The Credit

D3 (Mzvee Centre)

I bring to you a new segment entitled "Critical Analysis". Certain disturbing issues in the public domain will be brought to light and discussed.

The first issue that will be discussed in this segment is  Mzvee's "new" released song and video "Gimme Dat" ft. Joel. Now it is not a hidden fact that Mzvee was part of the group D3 under Richie's record label before she went solo. D3's first song "Good Girl Gone Bad" was a hit and it got everyone talking about them. Before they group broke down, they were planning to bring out an album and they released a couple of songs. One of the songs they released was "Gimme Dat" ft J.O.E.L. A release party for the song was held for patrons to get to hear the new song D3 had cooked up. Promo pictures were splashed all over on social media platforms for this particular song. Lynx TV even promoted the song's release on it's show Lynx Tv on the segment "Realtime".

A few months after this group went down in ashes and Mzvee has become a successsful solo artsit, "Gimme Dat" ft. Joel has been released with a music video. The most surprising thing about this is that, now the song belongs to Mzvee only since the other members voices have been wiped out and there was no appearance of any of them in the music video either.

Presently, the song is now Mzvee ft Joel instead of D3 ft. Joel like it was in the past. One would ask, were there other members consulted when this big change was made or were they just kicked to the curb? Were they bought out of the song? I guess we need Richie and Mzvee to answer this question or the other members.

Even if the song was written by the record label , reference had to be paid to the other members of the group since it was something they all worked on together. A release party was even held for the song when it was released so how can the song now belong to one person simply because the group is no more and one has excelled. I wonder how the other members of the group feel when they hear the song with their voices taken out not to talk of the music video.

Mzvee is a great vocalist, there is no two ways about it. But this recent move of hers and the record label is not fair to the others. I rest my case.
